I strongly disagree with the repeal of Ontario’s cap and trade system. The impending global climate breakdown is an existential issue for humanity. Ontario may only contribute to a fraction of the problem but every jurisdiction can claim this and so each must do its part. Read more

Mr. Ford has failed to submit anything resembling a detailed plan. Apparently this move is supposed to put money back in the pockets of the taxpayers. How? What is definite is that it will benefit those businesses that will be allowed to pollute with impunity, Read more

The cancellation of the Cap and Trade program is a most wasteful action by our government. It is not only an action against the work of reducing GHG, it is an action against people and the planet, and the least loving kind of behaviour possible. It is death affirming rather than life affirming. Read more

I live in Hamilton. I am a born Canadian taxpayer. I believe the most serious threat to my family's life is climate change. I learned about this at the University of Waterloo in the 1990's when Hurricane Katrina had not wreaked it's destruction and chaos on our world yet. Read more

Carbon pricing should still be part of Ontario's Climate Plan. Until it is improved on, the Federal Backstop will do for now, so don't fight it. Let the feds recycle the revenue to all legal citizens, regardless of age. Credits to underage children into trust accounts until they are 18. Read more

Repealing cap and trade is insane in an era where the greatest threat Ontario, Canada, and the world face is climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions in farming, manufacturing, and transportation. Cap and trade was used successfully in the 1980s and 1990s to fix the problem of acid rain. Read more

I am a thirteen year old boy who’s looking out for his own and everyone else of this youth generations well being. I stand by my opinion of disapproving Doug Ford’s decree. The environmental bill of rights is one of the few things keeping this world from total disaster of worldly proportions. Read more

As a Canadian youth I believe that when I disagree with this political decision I stand with thousands of my peers. As the next generation, we will have to live with the disruptive, dangerous, (and avoidable) consequences of Climate Change if this repeal continues. Read more

I strongly believe that Ontario should not scrap the Cap and Trade program because of the multitude of programs it is able to support. We all need to conclude that pollution has a cost and we can't keep pushing it onto our children and their future children. Read more

Pulling resources from the goal of reversing climate change is terrifically, fantastically stupid. Even as the first climate refugees appear and microplastics turn up in all our food, commerce has no desire to mitigate its own disastrous impact. That is what government is for. Read more
