This bill will weaken and perhaps devastate the environmental protection of the green belt. Protect the Moraine and its diverse environment. Ontarians care passionately about preserving our green space. So much of our lives here rest on preservation and stewardship.

By eliminating the Toxics Reduction Act and allowing for development under Schedule 10 of Bill 66 that ignores important environmental measures, these proposals eliminate the regulations that are meant to protect the very people whom these government claims to be “for”. Read more

Please do not build on all our good farm land, destroy animal habitats or continue to make this beautiful country incedingly more depressing to live in. There must be a way to move forward economically and keep the beauty of trees, animals and people.

Government regulation to protect clean air, water and greenbelt areas is not red tape. It must be a guaranteed right for all Canadians and not subject to whims of an elected leader to be able to erase years of work with a stroke of the pen.

I am concerned that the removal of regulations from construction will lead the the damaging of Ontario's heritage through the damage and destruction of archaeological sites. Once damaged, such sites cannot be recovered; this will lead to the erasure of aspects of Ontario's rich history. Read more

Do not endanger regulations and laws protecting Ontario's natural areas, farmlands, drinking water and our protection from toxic chemicals. There is no business development that could possibly justify putting any of these systems at risk. Read more

Remove Schedule 10 from Bill 66, which allows municipalities to override provisions in the Greenbelt Act, Clean Water Act, Lake Simcoe Act, Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Act and Great Lakes Protection Act. Ontario has plenty of places to develop inside the Greenbelt. Read more
