In the face of rapidly diminishing wildlife; the spring bear hunt is totally inappropriate! It is a practice of extreme and unnecessary cruelty. Bear cubs are left alone with little hope of survival...a tragic situation indeed! I am asking that the spring bear hunt be ended permanently .
Please reconsider the hunting of the beautiful creatures. These are sentient beings and should be left to live in peace. There is no reason any hunt should be happening. We are contributing to the imbalance of nature and this will surely come back to haunt us. PLEASE RECONSIDER.
I have concerns that opening a spring bear hunt will result in more orphan bear cubs. Female bears with cubs need to be protected. My understanding is that there is already a bear hunting season in the fall, why is it necessary to have two hunting seasons? It doesn’t seem logical.

Yes , I am all for the full re instatement of the spring bear hunt in Ontario. The spring hunt should never have been cancelled in the first place. Very poor decision years ago has created a severe decline in ungulate population in many areas across our province, along with the wolf/coyote ban.

Fundamentally I am against game hunting. I believe that human beings have to share the world with other forms of life. I do acknowledge that humans depend on kills other animals for food and clothing.

I hate the idea of people hunting Bears while hibernating or in the Spring with babies. If this is to cull the population because it is growing to large I think only ADULT males in the spring and Adults of both sex in the fall.

Spring Bear Hunt should not be permanent, there is no way of protecting the moms and young
when they leave their den.
Too many people see a bear and assume it should be killed without thinking about size or gender.
I think making the spring bear hunt permanent is a ridiculous idea. I can't even understand how anyone would agree to this. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given that I have had no reply from our current Minister for any of the issues I have written to him about.
