Opening applications for train and trial spaces after 25 years is a massive step backward into the past. These facilities have no place in Ontario. Instead of opening new applications, the province’s existing 24 facilities need to be closed immediately.

This is absolutely cruel to rabbits, coyotes, and foxes. We have already taken away their land, food, and water for our selfish greed. These facilities should be abolished and have no place in Canada.
To know that these facilities still exist know 2023 is deeply disturbing .
Coyotes and foxes are a crucial part of our ecosystem.
Animals involved in this training, dogs and bate) also deserve a better life.

This is a wildly antiquated approach to animal control as well as canine enrichment.
We’ve come away from live animal sports for animals - greyhound racing, fox hunting etc, because of its inhumane consequences for the animals involved.

It had been decided to face out the existing licences. They should not be re issued or renewed. It is a barbaric concept to have captive animals become pray.

I am strongly opposed to allowing any facilities such as this. It is remarkable that any have been grandfathered. Shame on anyone who thought this was a good idea.
Please, do not proceed with this amendment. I fully support the right and ability to hunt and use dogs as part of the process, but more of these training facilities are not needed.
