This is outrageous. You don't need to take allocated green space. It has already been proven that there is enough land available for new housing without encroaching on green space. This is dictatorial.
This plan should continue with existing circumstantial requirements as previously approved. Making the plan redundant at the current stage could jeopardize other factors to the density level being created here with regard to the National climate change initiatives.

Revoking the Official Plan for these lands is a mistake.
Development takes time. When developers start the process, they need guarantees that their proposal will be considered. Official Plans give them that guarantee.

This conservative government under Doug Ford has no credibility for acting on behalf of the people of Ontario. The decisions this government makes are to assist very wealthy developers and land owners to make even more wealth. Leave duffins creek alone. We fought for it already!

A submission with respect to the Revocation of the Pickering Planning Act and Bill 23 citing concerns regarding urban sprawl rather than densification, environmental destruction including increased flood risks, wetland destruction, loss of farmland and species extinction.

I am writing to express my opposition to Bill 23 and associated policy proposals that would weaken environmental protections and undermine public involvement in land use planning and decision-making.

I am concerned that the changes proposed by the government will both *not* improve the housing situation in Ontario *and* undermine local authorities that are already successfully carrying out planned activities in their regions.

This is another example of removing democratic representation and regional authority over lands in Ontario. It also will threaten the integrity of the Duffins Rouge agricultural and natural preserve.
I strongly oppose revoking the Central Pickering Development Plan or any development on the Duffins-Rouge Agricultural Preserve. Please leave our greenbelt and wet lands alone.

Firstly you should not build on protected greenbelt. Secondly you should not be just building single family homes that no one can afford. There should be a mixture of options for families, singles and seniors.

The elimination/voiding of the plan is not acceptable -- the objectives that were put in place with this plan should remain as they are -- if it is not broke do not try to fix it -- we need to work to adjust density & encourage smaller more affordable homes in existing approve for development

If you insist on proceeding with this absolutely reprehensible dereliction of your duty to protect agricultural land and wetland in favour of low-density shortsighted housing schemes that benefit only wealthy developers, I trust you will keep in mind that you have no mandate from the people of Picke

We don't need 50,000 homes that the people of Ontario can afford except foreign investors, and a very few percentages. This release to developers will destroy the richest farmland in Ontario. You can NOT eat concrete. This land is actually Mohawk land and breeches Treaty rights.

The Central Pickering Development Plan as written looks like an excellent piece of policy if followed. The things that are called 'burdens' in this proposal are actually protection for lands that are:

This seems like an unwarranted intrusion on the municipality. And for little benefit it is not really the area we want to be putting much more housing.
Developing on existing Greenbelt areas, which were designated as such for a reason, is a decision with very long-term effects, which are irreversable, and which will negatively affect us, our children and future generations.
