Environmental experts agree your proposed changes will cause a host of irreversible ecological problems. You cannot just destroy sensitive lands and make up for it elsewhere... That is not how nature and ecosystems work.

I am so disappointed yet again. This is the worst decision taken by our government in recent times. Or let’s just say they’re adding to their kitty of such ridiculous decisions! They really need to have some shame and the people of the state should really wake up and sound the alarm bells.

We are struggling to buy or rent houses in Ontario, people already having houses are the ones who is going to oppose this, so you should open this comment box only to people like us who don't have houses. rent prices in gta is becoming more than our one month's salary.

The greenbelt has been protected thanks to a legislation put in place to prevent urban sprawl and protect sensitive geography by the same government looking to tear it down. The proposal to build over the greenbelt is short-sighted and simply no more than a bandaid solution to the housing crisis.

This move to open up an area that is supposed to be permanently protected is counter productive to: (1) the intent of protection of the lands and keeping it protected in perpetuity; (2) efforts to limit urban sprawl and undo poor planning of the past; (3) allowing municipal infrastructure management

Environmental experts agree that this will be disastrous, it puts the water table at risk, disrupts animal corridors, erodes soil among other things.
In this day and age I cannot believe nor do I support the development on the Greenland.
Not acceptable.
The houses you plan on building will not help the crisis. We don’t need multi million dollar mansions only a select few can buy. We need affordable housing. Do not destroy our environment for the rich and do not blame the housing crisis on immigrants.

Not only is the paving over the greenbelt short-sighted in terms of protecting the environment, and thus, our domestic food supply; but building there also contributes towards urban sprawl. Sprawl is not cheap.

LEAVE THE GREENBELT ALONE! This is a horrible, short sided bill driven by nothing but greed. Stop the sprawl, save our farmland, develop withing the existing urban boundary.
Developing of the Greenbelt is not only a nefarious reneging on Ford's promise not to, but especially disgusting to destroy fragile green spaces and ecosystems during a climate crisis as never seen before. We should be looking to improve our increasingly dire climate situation, not make it worse.

DENSIFICATION INSTEAD, PLEASE. NO TO URBAN BOUNDARY EXPANSION. DO NOT BUILD ON GREEN BELT. OUR CITIES CANNOT KEEP UP WITH MAINTENANCE OF EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE AS IT STANDS. DO NOT SELL OUT ONTARIANS.
Please construct additional houses. International students receive a maximum of 1000 CDN each month. But the cost of a shared room is 700 CAD. More than 8 or 9 people have shared a single home. despite the fact that we are unable to pay our rent.

Building homes on protected land concerns me.
Many people already cannot afford to buy homes in the GTA and we are also expecting thousands of immigrants who also likely cannot afford to buy homes, let alone rent in the GTA.

I do not agree with the green belt being developed. We need to protect it and not chip away at it piece by piece. There is enough land already for housing it has just not been utilized effectively.
Stop Bill 23 and save our greenbelt and wetlands! The PC Party has gone too far, is this what a majority government does? There are no truths to your party and it’s accountability, I am extremely disappointed. The PC Party will no longer receive my vote if Bill 23 goes through.
