Halton has been dug into enough. If you develop more green belt now we’ll pay for it later with limited natural resources and increased global warming. Stop ruining natural land. We don’t need more houses - we need to spread our farther than Toronto. Stop. Canada is huge stop being so greedy.

The ON government’s attempt to develop part of the Greenbelt & attack municipal democracy is beyond scandalous. It shows contempt for the citizenry and the environment. There are other responsible ways of dealing with housing needs. Municipal democracy doesn't belong to developers. Read more

I am not supportive of this proposal. For years, the Premier has made promises to not touch the Greenbelt, so this proposal erodes the trust of Ontario residents. In addition, expanding land available for building houses is not the answer. Read more

Sensitive Agricultural lands, watershed, greenspace, forests, etc. absolutely need to be preserved for the longevity of life. If we don't preserve these areas, they will disappear and never come back. Development can easily happen on marginal lands outside of the sensitive areas. Read more

I am writing to express my strong opposition to your proposal to remove 7,400 acres from the Greenbelt (ERO #019-6216 and #019-6217). I do not accept your government’s misleading premise that these Greenbelt lands are needed for housing. Read more

I do not agree with the proposed changes. The Greenbelt is a stronghold for biodiversity, farmland, flood mitigation, and carbon sequestration. The need for more housing does not mean we should be removing greenspaces and habitat in order build them. Build up, not out. Read more

I am very much against this proposal. Slowly chipping away at protected lands of the Greenbelt in order to profit development companies is a dangerous and slippery slope. We should be focusing on more long-term and sustainable practices like urban densification, not urban sprawl. Read more

Please do not remove ANY lands from the Greenbelt. That land is precious. We have more than enough space to add residences in land that is already developed, and it only makes sense to increase our density, not to sprawl farther and farther, destroying nature along the way. Read more
