Have already informed our mpp re: my strong opposition to this unneeded and damaging proposal. Let’s keep promises made. From where are you getting your information and advice re: using greenbelt for housing and roads. Neither make sense or can be justified.

I am against this proposal. This sets a dangerous precedent for chopping up the Greenbelt and signals to developers that they can buy up lands inside the Greenbelt and lobby the government to swap them out with other lands so the developers can turn a huge profit. Read more

As a lifelong resident of Southern Ontario, I am deeply disturbed by this proposal to destroy priceless land in the Greenbelt, an area that has always been protected for good reason. Its importance to our ecosystem and to agriculture in the province should be protected. Read more

We are in the midst of a climate crisis and need to preserve as many of our green spaces as possible. These areas provide carbon sinks to help control emissions while providing cooling areas when heat waves turn lethal. They also protect valuable farmland essential for food security. Read more

Absolutely not! Greenspaces are worth far more economically kept intact! Stop wasting money and resourses. Focus should be on providing low impact modest housing. Re-use materials, spaces and paid government workers to create solutions and projects. We are better than this bill!

I am extremely grateful that the ford government is willing to release the green belts as it benefits our economy, creates more jobs, brings in more tax dollars, creates schools and most importantly will open the door to more affordable housing. Read more

As an affordable housing advocate I am absolutely opposed to increased suburban development that costs the city more to service and build infrastructure than it does to provide an appreciable difference to vulnerable sectors most in need of housing. These will be big suburban houses. Read more
