The Duffins Creek watershed includes Greenwood Conservation Area. This is a park frequented by three generations of my family. We lived in Toronto, and Greenwood was our getaway. There were picnics, fishing and wading. Family reunions and I went to day camp on Easter break as well. Read more

This proposal does not provide a route for building more housing, not does it ensure that our most sensitive lands will remain protected. The land swaps fail to recognize the complicated connections that support the ecosystems currently protected in the Greenbelt. Read more

Premier Ford promised that he would not develop the Greenbelt. The Housing Commission believes that there is enough land available within our current urban regions for the housing that is required. Premier Ford is supposed to work for the people of Ontario, not corporate greed. Read more

The land that is in the Greenbelt has been studied and was added to protect watersheds, land for farming, corridors for species, green space for future generations. This was done back in 2005. How can the government now decide without any environmental assessments to take land out. Read more

Don't touch the greenbelt for any residential or commercial purposes. Add lands to be protected but that's it. Further: ~ The premier made a pledge in the last election that he would not touch the greenbelt. He should not break this promise. Read more

Please do not do this. How are we supposed to explain this to our children? The planet is in serious trouble, and you’re willing to make it worse? To destroy habitats? I am ashamed and horrified that this, my home province, is taking this ugly, misguided course of action.
