Please do NOT allow the aquaculture of Jade Perch in Ontario. These fish would be kept in what is equivalent to a factory farm. They are from Australia, would be raised in tanks, and would have no semblance of a normal environment. Read more

Despite the idea of having procedures to ensure otherwise, the chance is high that these fish will eventually escape into waterways where they aren't currently represented. As we know from previous examples, the consequences could be catastrophic for the native species. Read more

As a person that has seen many accidents or spillage from mining, aquaculture ponds that are supposedly safe, I am always skepticle when someone says this one is safe. Without seeing the lay of the land how can we accept any proposal of this kind. Read more

Mitigation measures are never a guarente and there is always a risk to our water ways. Why wouldn't this applicant raise yellow perch something that is native to our water ways? A water source is required to raise fish, meaning there is risk to our water ways. Read more
