I will not be putting a poop bag on my horse, that would be ridiculous and unsafe for me and others. If a low branch grabs the bag and smacks the horse against the bottom, all hell would break loose. That’s a very unsafe rule for the rider and anyone else on the trail. Read more

Happy Holidays, I would like to support the continued use by equestrians of the forest. Horses helped build our civilization and without them we wouldn’t even have the luxury of county forests and protected spaces. Horses deserve respect and protected use of all trails. Read more

If horses have to wear these bags, then dogs should as well. I walk in the Conservation areas and there's always someone who doesn't clean up their dog's poop. Responsible horse riders will dismount and kick the horse poop off to the side.

I think this is ridiculous!!! Horse manure is just grass and a bit of grain and decomposes quite quickly after a rain and is excellent fertilizer for the forest, unlike dog poop, which sits on the ground for months and months! Read more

With respect to horses on trails and the use of catch bags, for horse waste, please reconsider this requirement. I currently use trails and we have managed this issue by being responsible and returning to remove or scatter debris, we have, when safe to do so, dismounted to scatter. Read more

I was quite happy with the preliminary management plan for the Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park. In particular, I am happy to see that damaging activities will be prohibited and that the purpose of the park is for passive recreation such as hiking. Read more

Ontario established Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park (UUPP) in July of last year. Now, it is consulting on a preliminary Management Plan. - Unfortunately today criminals have been given a green light to do whatever they want with only a tap on the wrist. Read more
