Decades of evidence show that the best way to reduce car gridlock is to provide safe, viable alternatives to driving cars. Because of the Bloor-Danforth bike lane, my family (husband, wife, and two kids) recently moved to a nearby home. Read more

As a parent who bikes regularly with my kids, I strongly believe that bike lanes are essential for the safety and mobility of families like mine. They allow us to choose a sustainable, active way to get around without fear of sharing lanes with cars. Read more

This proposal will cause me to take the whole lane when riding on Bloor and bring traffic to a stand still OR i will add more traffic by being a single passenger vehicle taking up 3x the space I take up as a cyclist. Read more

Oh, where do I even begin with this proposal? It’s almost as if someone took a look at Toronto’s congestion crisis and thought, “You know what we need? More cars! Read more

"You're nervous when there's no bike lanes. At least I was. We have to do everything we can to make sure there's never a death in the city. One death is way too many when it comes to bicycle riders." - Doug Ford (2017) Bike lanes are good for business They’re good for the environment Read more

As a driver, a cyclist and a runner in the city, i can tell you that bike lanes save lives. And research has shown they do not cause congestion. Bad planning of construction does. You don’t think that removing bike lanes and paving new toad won’t cause congestion? And who will pay for that? Read more

I am totally against removing bike lanes. Fix transit and get more cars off of the roads. Close the bike lanes and the bikes will still be there but with cars making it way more dangerous for them.

This law is unnecessary and ill-conceived. No one with any intelligence supports it, nor should they. This isn't about saving time, it is about punishing cyclists. This government is ruled by petty hate. It is disgusting. Be ashamed.

Taking cycling lanes away will negatively impact both environmentally friendly modes of transport - cycling - and making traffic worse on city streets. That the Premier is unwilling or uninterested to listen to experts shows that there is no viable environmental reason for this. Read more

Removal of the bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University is not at all supported by the data on traffic times. The volume of traffic has increased with return to office mandates and increased travel times are reflective of that, not of impact from the bike lanes. Read more

I fully support the removal of the Yonge Street bike lanes. They have caused gridlock, made it impossible for people with disabilities to be dropped off or access the businesses especially south of St. Clair. Limited parking spaces have exacerbated this problem. Read more

This proposal is a disgrace. It is utterly backwards, and ignores the data on all of the benefits that cycling brings to traffic, safety, the environment and businesses. It's very important to highlight that removing bike lanes will force cyclists into cars, only making traffic worse. Read more

Bike lanes reduce the number of cars on streets thereby reducing traffic congestion. They keep cyclists safer by giving them their own dedicated space. I'm a driver in Toronto. I commute to work by car and I support keeping bikes lanes intact and adding even more to reduce road congestion. Read more
