Bike lanes save lives , so many bike riders use bike lanes ...
Coordinate construction sites around the city to minimize gridlock !! More cyclist using bike lanes means less people driving cars and less traffic on already congested streets

The paramount priority should be the safety of cyclists. My sons and daughters cycle to work and also with my toddler grandchild to daycare. Bike lanes improve their safety. The focus should be on the design of bike lanes for maximum safety.

A complete no brainer to anyone with a brain. Removing the bike lanes will result in more cars on the road, more congestion, and more fatalities. It’s incredible this waste of money endeavour is even up for debate.

This is ridiculous. If adding lanes solves traffic, the 401 would be the envy of the world.
Pretending this is data driven is asinine. Bikes will still use the curb lanes, and drivers (if they follow the law) will be forced to share. All it does is makes things more dangerous.

Toronto has done in-depth research, community consultations with politicians and business leaders and chose this path. Statistics back that the change does not impede traffic. For every cyclist on the road, that is one less car.

Toronto’s bike lanes are incredibly important to the community. My husband and I use them daily to commute, and have converted many friends. Remove them and we (as many others) will be forced to buy one more car and add to the gridlock. Encourage bike lanes. Encourage public transit.

The city needs more scalable and sustainable transportation options. As a driver, I much prefer separate infrastructure for bikes and cars - it’s safer for EVERYONE. BACK OFF FROM CITY JURISDICTION, FORD! Stop trying to take us backward!
Thank you. This is much needed and supported by our Retiree Union of 200+ strong members who last week showed a 95.6% support of this proposal when we tallied it at our monthly year end meeting. The citizens and residents here support this and we thank you for listening to us.
"We have to do everything we can to make sure there’s never a death in the city. One death is way too many when it comes to bicycle riders. We have to make sure that they’re safe."

Provincial encroachment. People who don't live in our city should not be able to make unilateral decisions affecting our residents. This is a scary precedent indeed. I urge you to reconsider this plan.
The proposed Bill 212 will not save time or reduce gridlock. It is a waste of taxpayer money to rip up infrastructure in densely populated areas that reduces the number of single occupant vehicles on the road.
If this bill passes, the conservatives will lose my vote on the next election.
A significant fraction of commuters in the downtown core rely on these bike lanes to get to and from work safely, including those on hospital row, who fully supported the University Ave. bike lanes going in in the first place.

If the Bloor bike lanes are removed, drivers will be forced to share the lane with bikes. Bikes will take full positions on the road. Be ready for more traffic and more deaths.
Ripping out the bike lanes on Bloor and Yonge is the most useless non-solution to traffic. The only thing it would do is make the streets more dangerous for cyclists. A foot of space on the curb is not doing anything for gridlock traffic.

I don’t support the Ontario government making decisions on transportation issues that are part of the municipal governments responsibility. Build more public transportation like trains instead of adding more roads.
This bill is horribly misinformed. It is a proven fact that adding lanes of traffic do not reduce gridlock, but diverting modal share away from personal vehicles does.
