As a resident in the City of Toronto, this bill seems to be a waste of taxpayer money considering the investments that have been made to create safe travel for cyclists and pedestrians. The bike paths are good for all road users. Bike lanes allow kids to get around the city safely. Read more

This is the most disappointing bill I have seen the current government table. I commute on the 427/401/410 everyday! Etobicoke to Brampton. I fully support bike lanes in urban areas! Bloor is a STREET, not a ROAD! Read more

I disapprove with this new bill, particularly the removal of bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University in the City of Toronto. First, this government is overreaching on its jursidiction and is using provincial funds to go against municipal planning. Read more

As both a cyclist and a driving commuter who's lived in Ontario for all of my adult life (~15 years) I've seen cycling grow continually. A lot of this has to do with growing cycling networks. Read more

This act is a gross overstep of Provincial powers on what are Municipal responsibilities and autonomy. The province should be focused on dealing with it's own responsibilities instead of adding additional red tape on Municipal decision making. Read more

Government people, I feel like your really out of the loop here because your stuck in your privileged rich people echo chamber... But wanted to share in case you weren't aware that CYCLING IS FOR EVERYBODY. It isn't really a city vs rural Ontario issue. Anyone can take it up. Read more

Hi, I am a 20 year old economics student at Guelph that works in London in the summer. I occasionally bike to school or work because I need to share a car with my sister. This is a common situation for people my age because extremely few families can afford 4 cars for a household. Read more

Red tape and bureaucracy should never be implemented by a provincial government to supercede the decisions made by the municipality that deals with infrastructure on a day to day basis. Read more

The removal of bike lanes and heavy-handed approach to regulation on new bike lanes in this bill is a mistake. The people of Toronto were surveyed and the majority (57%) agreed that they would like to bike more, see the first link. Read more

We WANT bike lanes. We NEED to protect our Greenbelt. The removal of bike lanes in Toronto would only cause way more construction and congestion all over the city. Read more

As someone who lives by Yonge street, removing the bike lanes will significantly affect my health and wellbeing. The pollution, noise and congestion has been so much better since the bike lanes were installed and really hope Yonge street gets separated ones instead instead of it being removed!

This is government overreach, Doug ford and his team should be trying to solve problems for all Ontarians, not telling Toronto what to do with its roads. Why is the government not helping with cost of living or housing. And instead pretending he knows better than experts in transportation
