I strongly oppose Bill 212’s restrictions on bike lanes. Research shows that bike lanes improve safety, promote healthier lifestyles, and reduce traffic congestion.

This is a municipal responsibility and has nothing to do with provincial governance. This is major provincial oversight and only focusing on Toronto, the province is very large and requires the Premiers attention.

As a Toronto resident, I am strongly against this proposal to reduce bike lanes from our city streets. The city is already woefully inadequate in its bike transportation infrastructure relative to cities such as Montreal.

Absolutely backwards bill that will literally not move Ontario forward. As a transportation professional, I cannot believe the lack of data and studies to back this detrimental change to our roadway networks.

This has to be one of the most idiotic pieces of legislation to come from this government, which is an accomplishment by itself. I am a Bloor-Kingsway cyclist who uses the bike lanes on Bloor, and believe that it has been a positive development for the neighbourhood and the city.

Please don't spend anymore taxpayer money removing something we just spent money on building? How is traffic congestion the most pressing issue? Removing alternative forms of transportation will only bring more cars to roads, it doesn't matter how many lanes there are for cars.

Bike lanes improve safety for ALL ROAD USERS and are better for business. There is no cause to rip them out and spend tax dollars from all Ontarians on this project. Leave the bike lanes alone. On top of this, this is municipal jurisdiction. What was it Doug said to Taylor Swift? Stay in your lane!

Absolute waste of money to get rid of bike lanes. You will not solve traffic by eliminating bike lanes. Doug Ford needs to focus on HEALTHCARE and stop wasting our money on regressive unnecessary proposals.
The new highway can no skip vital environment reports. That land is sensitive and vital for the Toronto area farms/storm water. We can not skip learning it's impacts just because
Removing alternative methods of transport is not the way to solve traffic congestion. We should be focusing on reducing the number of cars on the road and encouraging people to use bikes and public transport.

Please do not remove bike lanes. Bike lanes in Toronto are awesome and make riding around incredibly safe. I say this as a car owner, whose partner rides a bike/or scoots around on an e-scooter.
This proposal is highly problematic. Dedicated bike lanes make the roads safe for both drivers and bike riders. If the bike lanes are ripped out and the people biking switch to using cars, that is just going to cause more traffic.

This should not be a government priority. With all we know now, in the year 2024, why are we still prioritizing vehicles over people. Congestion and traffic is a problem in big cities because there are no better options for people to get where they need to go!

This bill is dividing Ontarians, will slow traffic, and increase grid lock as cyclists turn to cars to get around.
For a government trying to get rid of red tape, they sure do love red tape.
This is a bad act that will waste taxpayer money, cause accidents and not help fight gridlock one iota. A cynical piece of political theatre that will leave Ontario a worse place than it was before.
This is an objectively terrible plan:
1. A complete waste of money to destroy bike lanes that were just built. We have a crumbling healthcare system that could use some funds right now

As someone who predominantly uses a bicycle and public transportation, I support this bill, as it means instead of using a cramped bicycle lane, I will be forced to cycle in the vehicle lane, giving me much more room to manoeuvre in the wider lane.
