I oppose Bill 5. We need to continue to protect endangered species. This is just Doug Ford trying to allow his friends to build whatever they want without regard for the environment and endagered species. The impacts of this shortsighted bill will be long lasting. Read more

PLEASE don’t do this. I know the government believes it has a strong mandate to do as it wishes. But most Ontarians do not want a Ford dictatorship government. We do not want you to continue decimating the environment to benefit developers. Read more

Ontario's biodiversity is at risk, and so are Indigenous rights, among other issues with this bill. This bill poses risks to all levels of valued components. The prospect of choosing potential economic gain over our long-term wellbeing is so misguided. Read more

I do not agree with this proposed legislation because I think that it is a backwards step for the protection of endangered species. Also a backwards step with respecting Ontario's indigenous populations. Finally, a backwards step in relation to flood prevention.

I am writing to strongly oppose Bill 5: the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act and its dangerous proposals, including the creation of Special Economic Zones, the weakening of Ontario’s endangered species protections, and the exemption of the Eagle’s Nest mine from an environmental review. There is nothing reasonable or balanced about this proposed change. It is one more step in the Ontario government's ongoing dismantling of environmental and species protections. Read more

Oppose this proposed change to the endangered species act. Sounds like the Governent can remove any endangered species arbitrarily without consultation or a defined process. Projects can start simply by registering. This may lead to habitat destruction due to Read more

This new proposal is weak in protection of endangered species and it is rather obvious, and disgusting, that it is clearly about land grabs for development. Typical Ontario government.
