Ontario has made changes to the Planning Act, City of Toronto Act, 2006, and Municipal Act, 2001 through the Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024 (‘Bill 185’).

We have made new regulations that identify how Endangered Species Act, 2007 protections apply to Black Ash and its habitat.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1527202646 was issued to 150 Steeles Milton Inc. on June 13, 2024, to renew Permit to Take Water No. P-300-3185006486 for remediation purposes. Water will be taken from one well array in the Town of Milton, Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario for 364 days.

Permit to Take Water No. 4716-D5XPTX was issued to Islington Golf Club Limited on June 13, 2024, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 0875-BA8R8R for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from Mimico Creek in the Township of Etobicoke, City of Toronto, Ontario for 10 years.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval for Stella-Jones Inc. has been issued for the approval of a stormwater management facility to address water quality and quantity runoff from 309 Main Street West in the Town of Shelburne, Ontario.

A-Gas Canada Inc. has withdrawn its Environmental Compliance Approval application (air & noise) and hence, an Environmental Compliance Approval was not issued by the ministry.

The Ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (wastewater/sewage works) for a stormwater management facility serving Broccolini Kitchener GP Inc. as general partner for and on behalf of Broccolini Kitchener Limited Partnership, located at 400 Bridge Street East, Kitchener Ontario.

We have granted approval to 2544929 Ontario Inc. (operating as Viola Asphalt Inc.), located in Brampton, Ontario, to be registered under the Technical Standards Registry – Air Pollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Asphalt Mix – Industry Standard.

The application for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility from United Malwood Sawmills Inc., for their lumber products manufacturing and distribution facility located in Spencerville, Ontario was withdrawn by the Company. An approval was not issued.

The Ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to be issued to Loblaws Inc., for the establishment of sewage works, in support of a distribution Centre complete with a supermarket; for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater run-off from a site located at 1105 Fountain Street North, in Cambridge, Ontario.

Certificate of Property Use No. 2023-CZSGP3 for 1319 Bloor Street West, Toronto was issued to KS 1319 Bloor Street West Holdings Inc., as part of their development plans for the site.

Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) number 3757-D5RKKW was issued to Melinda Joan Taylor for the replacement of an existing subsurface disposal works to service three existing buildings located at 15442 and 15428 Georgian Bay Shore, Township of Georgian Bay, District Municipality of Muskoka.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-24-000068 to IAMGOLD Corporation for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1024448524 was issued to Dream Summit Industrial (Ontario) Inc. on May 17, 2024, to support the operation, maintenance and repair of the facility's cooling and water treatment systems, located at 7474 McLean Road East in Puslinch, Ontario.

Water will be taken from two wells in Puslinch, Ontario for 10 years.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-24-000083 to Goldenfire Minerals Inc. for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

The ARA Regulation and supporting policies have been amended to clarify and streamline the process for amending an existing aggregate licence, permit or site plan (subject to conditions).

We have created Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park through an amendment to O. Reg. 316/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006. This will strengthen the long-term protection of biodiversity and important habitats within the park while providing opportunities for visitors to enjoy the area’s natural beauty.
