Proposal details
This proposal is for an amendment to the existing ECA (waste disposal sites) #A021304 for an 8-hectare landfilling site within a site area of 33.9-hectares property to be used for the disposal of solid non-hazardous waste generated from residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) sources.
The proposal includes changes to allow a maximum receiving rate of the above noted wastes of 365,000 tonnes annually (1,000 tonnes daily average). At the proposed annual receiving rate noted above the landfill would reach capacity in 2035 assuming construction of the engineered landfill is completed in 2027. Additional changes being made include the construction of stormwater management infrastructure, applied for under a separate ECA, construction and operation of a leachate management pond, and perimeter screening berms.
The waste disposal site is to serve the Province of Ontario. The hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.
The ministry will impose monitoring requirements for the site.
