Description of instrument

Application has been made by Lafarge Canada Inc. to amend the current site plan to allow for the installation of a sediment pond on the quarry floor. The result is an amendment to the operating plan for the site to build the pond and delay the extraction of the surrounding area. Material to construct will come from within the site and will be reclaimed at the end of the life of the sediment pond to use in rehabilitation.

Other information

Lafarge Canada Inc. currently operates this site under the authority of Licence # 617421 under the Aggregate Resources Act. Current sediment ponds are located off site and are nearing capacity.

Site plan information is available to view at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) Sudbury District. Making an appointment to view the information is recommended to ensure aggregate staff will be available to provide information and answer questions.
