The changes to the site plan for ARA Licence No. 617421 were approved by the Director on July 8, 2026.
The approval allows Amrize Canada Inc., to incorporate a Sedimentation Pond System within the licensed quarry area, including associated updates to site plan drawing and notes to reflect its construction, operation and rehabilitation.

Description of instrument
Application has been made by Lafarge Canada Inc. to amend the current site plan to allow for the installation of a sediment pond on the quarry floor. The result is an amendment to the operating plan for the site to build the pond and delay the extraction of the surrounding area. Material to construct will come from within the site and will be reclaimed at the end of the life of the sediment pond to use in rehabilitation.
Other information
Lafarge Canada Inc. currently operates this site under the authority of Licence # 617421 under the Aggregate Resources Act. Current sediment ponds are located off site and are nearing capacity.
Site plan information is available to view at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) Sudbury District. Making an appointment to view the information is recommended to ensure aggregate staff will be available to provide information and answer questions.
