The need to incentivize the adoption of EVs is vitally important. I believe that the Ontario Provincial Government in conjunction with the Federal Government need to eliminate the HST on the purchase of EVs, specifically "Battery Electric Vehicles". Read more

I think that the EVIP is absolutely crucial to the sale of EV's at least until the cost of EV's reaches parity with ICE vehicles. The changes to the program last February were both effective and fair. I also think the EVCIP seems quite reasonable. Read more

The best incentive to purchase an EV should be a tax reduction of some sort. This would incentivize anyone in any purchase range to go for an EV as opposed to any other vehicle. [Original Comment ID: 196232]

The incentives could be a mixture both to stop GHG emissions and to drive EVs. Many plug-in hybrids, however, are not worthy of high incentive support, because they do not provide enough improvement. Read more

The EV purchase incentive should be tied to the battery size of the vehicle to push for suitable replacements for ICE vehicles The incentive cap should be relaxed to allow more people to purchase battery electric vehicles and should not apply to plug in hybrids. Read more

Although the incentives are working well for the EV and Hybrid cars that are currently available - launch dates for many of the full EV cars with 0 emissions are taking longer than thought (ex. Chevy Bolt; Hyundai Ioniq etc.). Read more

Electric vehicles over $50,000 should not have any incentives. Vehicles over that price are luxury vehicles and the purchasers should be able to afford them with or without the incentive. Vehicles under that price such as the upcoming Tesla model threeshould have significant incentive programs. Read more

Private Fleets represent over 50% of the Class 8 trucks on the road today, and over 70% of the class 4 to 7 Urban delivery trucks. As such, Private Fleet education and adoption of Electric Vehicles will be very important if a large scale increase in EV's is expected. Read more
