I am writing in support of the Yonge-Eglinton Official Plan Amendment No. 405 (“OPA 405”). This plan is in my view the only one that can support a liveable community. I am a resident of now Ward 15 – at 900 Mount Pleasant Rd. I have been living in the Yonge-Eglinton area for the past 26 years.

At the least,I am advocating for the acceptance of OPA 405 However, I along with many citizens/voters in St.Paul's riding would rather a total moratorium on further high rise building.

I have growing concerns regarding the increasing building density in the Yonge and Eglinton area. The side streets are congested with traffic, partially due to the Crosstown construction, but also because more and more people are living in the area.

The plan sounds very exciting and I commend the city for foresight in planning while such change is going on in the city. I have lived at Yonge ad Eglinton for 10 years and love that it is so busy and growing. 1.

I completely support OPA 405 because it is a plan that will best serve current and future residents of this area. It provides the only responsible way to proceed in this heavily populated area of Toronto, an area which in the next few years will see about 36K new residents.

I expected and accepted there would be growth in my immediate new neighbourhood when I bought into this building from plans in 2005. But so much and so fast! What I Never expected and don't really accept is the demolition of the numerous low-rise rental buildings in the area.

I strongly support OPA 405 and ask that it be approved in its current form. I support vitalizing development, generally. I look forward to the changes that continue to vitalize my neighbourhood. I do not support development that strains livability or the surrounding infrastructure.

I continue to wholeheartedly support OPA 405 for a number of keys reasons including the need to limit development to a reasonable and sustainable level due to the following considerations: -building heights & liveability -shadowing and access to sunlight -lack of green space -traffic and safe

As a resident of the Yonge-Eglinton neighbourhood who is directly affected by the exponential growth and huge number of condos going up and being proposed, I urge the Ministry to approve the Yonge-Eglinton Official Plan Amendment No. 405.
