Yet again, a legal challenge was required before the Ontario PC's were even willing to act appropriately and allow comments on ending cap and trade. In the meantime, nothing has been produced as a real plan moving forward. Ontario is destroying its credibility internationally. Read more

The whole purpose of the Cap and Trade program was to align ourselves with other nations in what is meant to be a global strategy at trying to reduce the rise in temperatures in Climate change and stop this planet from crashing and burning at an ever increasing rate. Read more

Ontario was a leader in the fight against climate change. What happened to our leadership? Sustainable technologies can be quite lucrative and they represent a largely untapped opportunity. What good would saving 10 cents a litre do for future generations of Canadians? Read more

Converting to a low carbon economy will be much harder for some than for others. Those with less money will be particularly hard hit as they don't have the capital to invest in higher efficiency devices. The cap and trade program was supposed to help address this. Read more

The Ontario PC Government's decision to cancel cap and trade is a huge mistake. Cap and Trade is a sucessful program to cut emissions from industry. Climate change is affecting our planet and regulations need to be put in place to reduce industry's huge foot print. Read more

I support the current cap and trade program and ask that it remains. If this government is hell bent on scrapping it there needs to be a system of regards and punishment for the environmental impact of industry. Stop forwarding the high cost of environmental damage onto future generations!

In order for Ontario to have some impact on helping the fight on climate change, there has to be some incentive to reduce use of fossil fuels. Any sincere effort has to include a reduction in fossil fuel use. There are many ways to do that, and updating infrastructure is probably the best way. Read more

As a citizen of Ontario, I firmly believe that the government of this province ought to prioritize a climate plan that is consistent with the Paris climate agreement targets. Climate denial and inaction have enormous costs for our economy, our health, and our environment. Read more
