To let a billion dollar company take water from our aquifers for next to nothing while running home with incredible margins is criminal. To let a company (Nestle) export our water outside of our watershed, thereby adversely affecting our watershed for future generations is criminal. Read more

I am very much in favour of extending the moratorium on new water taking permits. Further, I would urge the ministry to explore regulations to reduce the use of single use plastic bottles and to reduce the use of our ground water for profit.

I feel that water is a right, not a commodity. I do not think corporations should be paying a pittance for our groundwater and then selling it back to us at a massive profit for them. I would cancel all such permits as soon as possible. Read more

There are too many communities without clean water, yet we are giving ground water away for free to corporations that turn around and profit off of these same communities without clean water. Damaging to environment, eco-systems, and people. Water is life. Water is a human right.

I am not in favour of water taking. We have perfectly good water out of the tap. Bottling water from our ground water supply is unnecessary and damaging to the environment. We also need to greatly reduce the use of single use plastics, including disposable water bottles.

Around the world municipalities are beginning to scramble fro water. It is becoming scarce. This is not a time to give water permits to profiteering companies like Nestle. On a local level, the Ontario Government has mandated my municipality to grow by 40% in 20 years. Read more

I of course don’t have every inch of the facts apart from the simplest ones. Bottled water is an enviental hazard, producing vast unnecessary quantities of garbage. Allowing a large company to produce a social vice like this is short sighted. Read more
