I think there should be NO new permits to take water in Ontario, and existing bottlers should have their permits reviewed and wound down on a timeline that allows their employees to reenter the workforce. Bottled water is only essential in emergencies. Read more

Please implement a longer than one-year ban on water taking from Ontario sources. Industry pays pennies on the dollar for taking non-renewable water resources from the ground, and most often it is rural Ontario communities that are disproportionately affected. Read more

Government policy should clearly provide communities priority access to groundwater. As the proposal correctly points out, the demands on Ontario's ground water is growing and access to clean water is absolutely critical for living. Read more

Corporations have no right to profit from our ground water and strap us with the cost of recycling and such. Please make it mandatory to have filtered water fountains that are easily accessible in all public spaces e.g. food courts in malls etc. Read more

There is no reason to provide water bottling permits. These unnecessarily use up an important resource and encourage the introduction of plastics into the environment. Private companies should not be profiting from a necessary public resource. One-use plastics need to be abolished.
