I agree whole heartily with the request to extend the moratorium on permits to take ground water for the purpose of bottling it. Our community of centre Wellington is growing at an alarming rate and water needs for this community should be a priority! Read more

It is time to go beyond a simple moratorium on permits for bottled water. With water being a treasured resource of Canada and with ever increasing pollution by plastic water bottles it is time for the Ontario government to start the process to discourage and even shut these bottling plants down. There are so many alternatives than plastic bottled water. The draining of water from rivers is detrimental for the environment. The making of the plastic containers and the recycling of the containers use energy that in my opinion is an extreme waste causing more pollution to the environment.
