I recognize the need to reduce the numbers of Double-crested Cormorants. I have no argument with that. I do think the dates of June 16 to August 31 are more reasonable for the whole province and not just Central and Northern Ontario. The start date will be outside of the nesting period. Read more

The proposed changes are not sustainable for the double-cormorant population, it would be irresponsible to allow 50 per day with no limit. Entire colonies could be wiped out by a few individuals in a day. Read more

Hello, Thank you for giving us the opportunity to voice our opinions on this. My family is tired of seeing them destroy our natural habitat for other species; aswell as eating all the feeder fish. We would appreciate a totally open season on this evasive creature. Respectfully, M

I am very glad to see that something is finally being considered in order to control this invasion. These birds are not only in the great lakes ; I've seen them as far north as gogoma Ontario. This could be devestating to some of the smaller lakes if this doesn't get under control.

We have seen significant damage to island trees and the shoreline due to a surpopulation of these birds over the past several years in the St Lawrence Seaway around Brockville as well as some of the lakes just North. This is much needed.

It's about time. Over the past 15 years we have watched the lake we own a cottage on get overrun by cormorants. There has been a significant decline in the fish populations in the lake and I know you can say it may be many factors but watching these birds eat you can tell they have an impact. Read more

This is a great idea. They have been fouling up the shorelines for a long time now. However, allowing the game to spoil might create an environmental issue. They already stink to high heaven. Never mind adding rotting carcasses to the stink factor. Read more

This new season would be all the more reason for men, women, and children to enjoy and appreciate the great outdoors in this beautiful country! Perhaps this new season would decrease or eliminate poaching of similar game birds like goose and duck. Read more

I am a hunter from around the bay of quinte region and the population of cormorants here is out of control. I believe that allowing hunters to harvest these animals is a great idea and myself will be participating, but my only concern is how abouts do you wish for us to dispose for the bodies? Read more
