This is a terrible idea. Environmental protections like the Greenbelt Act, Clean Water Act, etc. were created to protect us, and by allowing companies to side-step them while removing public consultation or the ability to appeal is a recipe for disaster. Read more

I am very concerned about the proposal to make it easier for municipalities to bypass protections on farmland, "greenbelt" lands and other sensitive areas. We need farmland to grow food for Ontarians and we need greenbelt areas to protect biodiversity, species at risk, and as carbon sinks. Read more
