Thank you I fully support this! As a golf course superintendent, my staff and I were wasting a lot of time and expense to host public meetings that very few people attended. All the transparency necessary is on the IPM Website.
The cost and time of the public meeting can just not be justified due to the lack of interest. It is the right thing to do, take it out of the program.

The time commitment and expenses associated with holding the public meeting were onerous. In all the years, no one has ever come to the meeting held by my golf course.
I support the removal of the Ontario Pesticide Advisory Committee (OPAC) from the Ontario Pesticide Regulations. The federal government, through the Pest Management Regulatory Agency, conducts a thorough, scientific review and risk assessments for pesticide registrations.

I'm sorry but cemeteries should not be considered under the same exemption as gold courses and recreational grounds. We put enough embalming fluid un the ground and where does it leach off to. Something to reconsider please.

There are components within the regulation that simply cost money and provide no value.
I have hosted public meetings since the inception of the regulation. In that time frame, we have had limited and generally no attendance at our meeting.

I have held the annual public meetings, on behalf of the Golf Club I work for, each year since it was mandated in 1990.
For the first three years we did have one couple (neighbors to the property ) come and sit through the presentation.

Removal of the public meeting is a welcome change. With virtually no one attending these meetings they have proven to be an ineffective part of the IPM process. In all my years holding these meetings I have never had a single person attend.

I am in favor of the proposed amendment that will remove the public meeting component for golf courses. As a golf course operator, we have yet to see any interest from the general public as to our pesticide usage.

I agree with this proposal. These meetings are a complete waste of time and resources. I have been a golf course operator for 10 years and have never had a person show up to the meetings. Please remove this as one of the stipulations of the IPM program.
