Under the action/pillar "reducing regulatory burdens for industry to access wood", my comment is that forestry regulations have an important purpose - to regulate the harvesting of wood so as to reduce harmful impacts to the environment and by expansion to air quality, wildlife, biodiversity health, Read more

In 2020, the idea of pushing ahead with more environmental destruction, and ignoring the needs of endangered species is ludicrous. We need more protected areas, not fewer. We need more sustainable jobs, not more environmentally destructive ones. Read more

None of this is good for the people and land of Ontario. Less trees equals more climate impacts and if anyone should be taking care to protect wildlife it’s the companies who profit off the land. The ecosystem needs all of its players to succeed.

I support a long term solution for the forest sector which makes the CFSA and EAS equivalents. The CFSA allows multiple forest values and endangered species to be considered while still allowing development and implementation of forest practices and plans.

Please don't open old growth forests to logging. Yes, we need wood products, but we should be turning underused land into forests, not logging our last little pockets of true biodiversity. Especially at a time when our forests are increasingly threatened by wildfires.

You did not consult environmentalists on this. This is 2020 and the world is on fire. We do not have any time left, we have ZERO time left, for cutting down more trees. We need to be planting trees, not cutting them down. This is not an opportunity for Ontario families. Read more

This project is clearly more of a profit-making effort for the few, yet again. There are myriad options to counter plastic without the continuing rapacious mentality of capitalism that would clear out entire ecological systems for a dollar. Read more

This is a horrible policy that does not serve Ontarians and threatens to commit irreversible environmental damage for no conceivable reason. This government must not he allowed to destroy the land Ontarians depend on to satisfy their patrons' impulsiveness.
