Implementing a permanent black bear hunting season for economic interest is shameful. Killing a magnificent, innocent animal and justifying this disgusting act by saying it brings tourism, supports local business and controls the bear population is horrific.

I am not in favour of a spring bear hunting season. The negative issues around hunting when young cubs are dependent on a mother is a serious ethical issue. Your restrictions are on not hunting a female if she has her cubs with her, which is insufficient.

Allowing people to pay money shoot these defenceless creatures is disgusting. I do not approve of selling licences to kill black bears, or any animals. Humans have encroached on THEIR space and you want to profit from they murder.

Please don't hunt Ontario black bears for human entertainment. We are better than that. We should be conserving all our wildlife and let them flourish instead of hunting them.
It is ethically wrong to hunt during a time when females are nursing because of the orphaning and subsequent death of cubs. This is unpreventable as hunters and conservationists are unable to assess the nursing status of bears due to the bears' parenting behaviours.

I am a supporter of hunting but I do not agree with bear hunting. Most times it is baited hunting and most don’t use the meat and strictly go for the fur. Most hunters of turkey, deer, moose, etc. use almost the whole animal and this is not the case with Bear. Please leave them be.
I agree with the proposals as printed. Having resident outfitters who cater to guiding/outfitting resident bear hunters has been a long time coming and will remove the unfairness and competition between those outfitting resident and those outfitting non-resident bear hunters.
