This proposal requests permission to emit noxious malodorous gases very close to a public park and housing areas. This is not an appropriate location for such a plant. It is not appropriate to give approval to this kind of project while covid precautions prevent proper consultation.

This plant needs to be away from all residential areas. The release of harmful gases and truck transportation will destroy the Rouge park area which is central to the outdoor lives of Scarborough residents. Read more

For the reasons outlined in the attached letter I oppose the location of the plant close to the Lake near residential areas. It should be located in an industrial area near a 400 series highway remote from existing residential areas. Read more

The addition of a waste processing plant and biogas creation plant on Coronation drive, will have a negative impact on the environment and surrounding neighbourhood. The plant if created would be too close to residential areas, schools and parks, how is this safe? Or even being considered? Read more

Unfortunately this study, (unlike the one requested by the City) only focuses on traffic patterns, and does not consider the environmental, health, noise or safety risks from the significantly increased truck traffic. Read more

This traffic study is deeply flawed and reeks of conflict of interest. The study should be done by the province, should not cherry pick intersections, and should weigh all externalities such as noise and pollution from the large number of heavy trucks in and out of the site 24 hours a day. This traffic study uses data from as far back as 2001 and 2011 which is useless given the changes in the neighbourhood. Truck traffic has increased since 2016, along with regular vehicle traffic since the townhouses at 280 Manse Road adjacent to the community centre. Read more
