Why consultation isn't required

On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.

Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) for Remicorp Industries Inc., a ready-mix concrete batching plant and aggregate retail operation located in the City of Toronto, Ontario.

This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including:

  • five (5) baghouse dust collectors
  • two (2) natural gas fired water heaters
  • one (1) natural gas fired boiler
  • fugitive emissions from the delivery, storage, transfer, and handling of materials associated with the ready-mix concrete batching and aggregate retail operations

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • particulate matter
  • portland cement
  • slag
  • fly ash
  • nitrogen oxides
