Why consultation isn't required

On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.

Proposal details

This proposal is to amend Environmental Compliance Approval No. 4959-A9CQF9 issued to Pomas Farms Inc. The greenhouse farm is located at 1057 Highway 77, Leamington, Ontario.

Approval is sought for the expansion of the existing sanitary sewage treatment system servicing the greenhouse with accessory warehouse and office facilities.

The existing treatment unit, with a rated capacity of 40 cubic metres per day, will be decommissioned and replaced with a new moving bed biofilm reactor with a rated capacity of 96 cubic metres per day.

The wastewater treatment facility will continue to discharge to the Reid Drain West Branch at Highway 77.
