Why consultation isn't required
On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.
Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for a new stormwater management facility serving 1863406 Ontario Inc. (o/a Cherry Creek Greenhouses), located at 3530 Cherry Avenue, Lincoln, Ontario.
The stormwater management facility is designed to manage roof water from the agricultural greenhouse and includes three existing freshwater storage silos (2,838 cubic metres total), a cistern (150 cubic metres), and ultimately a pond (19,192 cubic metres) that can overflow to Gavora ditch to the west side of the property. Future additions include 6 more freshwater storage silos (5,676 cubic metres), and two cisterns (946 and 758 cubic metres) that will also be directed to the pond.
The final receiver of the discharge from the cistern is Lake Ontario, and it is not expected to be impacted by the effluent discharged from the site.
