Why consultation isn't required

An amendment to the Renewable Energy Approval held by 1021702 B.C. Ltd., as general partner for and on behalf of FWRN LP and Enercon Leasing Sub I Inc. and Enercon Leasing Sub II Inc., as general partners for and on behalf of NR Capital General Partnership has been made by the Director to change the owner and operator of the facility to 1021702 B.C. Ltd., as general partner for and on behalf of FWRN LP.

The purpose of the posting is to inform the general public of the amendment and their right to require a hearing in respect of this decision.

The amendment to the Renewable Energy Approval is considered administrative.

Bulletin details

This is an amendment to existing Renewable Energy Approval (REA) No. 4353-9HMP2R. This amendment will make an administrative change within the approval to:

  • change the owner and operator of the company from 1021702 B.C. Ltd., as general partner for and on behalf of FWRN LP and Enercon Leasing Sub I Inc. and Enercon Leasing Sub II Inc., as general partners for and on behalf of NR Capital General Partnership to 1021702 B.C. Ltd., as general partner for and on behalf of FWRN LP

This Class 4 wind facility, known as Niagara Region Wind Farm, is located in the Township of West Lincoln, Regional Municipality of Niagara. The facility has a total expected generation capacity of 230 megawatts (MW) and will operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Any resident of Ontario may require a hearing by the Environmental Review Tribunal (ERT) within 15 days after the date this Decision is loaded to the Environmental Registry by written notice served upon all of the following:

An applicant for a hearing shall state in the notice requiring the hearing, (a) a description of how engaging in the renewable energy project in accordance with the renewable energy approval will cause, (i) serious harm to human health, or (ii) serious and irreversible harm to plant life, animal life or the natural environment; (b) the portion of the renewable energy approval in respect of which the hearing is required; and (c) the relief sought.
