Our hwy 11 north is constantly closing due to weather and accidents, for several hours at a time. We need an alternative, and that is not bus service. Read more

30 months ago, the incoming provincial government promised to revive the much-needed Ontario Northlander train. This "plan" has lots of concrete steps to widen highways, build bridges, enhance airports, etc. -- but on passenger rail talks only about a "track audit": next to no action. Read more

To have passenger rail service back would be a blessing. If and when such a plan is for real, I would suggest that rail fare would have to be reasonable. If the ticket price is out of reach to many, then again, not many could afford to use it. Read more

I think that now would be a good time to get the trains going.Climate change is on peoples minds and support for big infrastructure projects is favourable.Borrowing money is cheap as interest rates approach 0%.The jobs created would help Ontario get through this also.

I would like to know why no connection is being made for residents located on and off Highway 11 (Timmins, Kapuskasing, Hearst, etc) to the west? If you google transportation from Kapuskasing to Thunder Bay, without your own personal transportation, you have one option...

This plan is not necessary. If the highway bypasses Chelmsford and Dowling, then the small businesses in those towns will suffer due to low traffic flow through them. What is necessary is the upgrading of the railroad intersection on Hwy 144 just before Onaping. It is dangerous.
