Such a horrible idea. Conservations are here to protect us and our future. We don’t even have the infrastructure to support this much development, this fast. This plan doesn’t address that at all. It just vilifies people doing good work.

Developers should not be exempt from requiring a permit. Municipal staff may experience political pressure to push development approvals through, however Conservation Authorities should always remain as an independent regulating authority. Read more

There are currently 36 individual regulations under the Conservation Authorities Act, one for each conservation authority in the province, that set out the activities and associated requirements for permits (or permissions). THEY ARE IN PLACE FOR SPECIFIC REASONS! Read more

Stop providing Provincial assistance to people that choose to build and live on a floodplain, landslip zone, or other natural hazard not covered by their insurance! Either insurers must insure (and charge a higher insurance premium as would naturally be expected), or don't build. Read more

I own a farm in halton that I built from scratch. I have invested millions in my farm BUSINESS. We are having serious issues with halton conservation and the way they are mapping wetlands with excessive 120 metre setbacks from ANY development. Read more

The mapping of PSWs is broken beyond scope and scale and not accurate as they are using aerial photos to map and I can give at least 20 examples where the maps are incorrect. There is no affordable appeal process when the map is wrong. It costs a fortune. Read more

Changes to the Planning Act and Conservation Authorities Act will diminish TRCA’s well-established role in protecting our communities from the public emergencies posed by flooding. To prevent flooding, a systems-level look at land use and infrastructure planning is needed. Read more

Conservation authorities have has had to much rein for way to long. They need to be put back to their original mandates. CA have had a heavy hand and to aggressive on home owners by putting set backs (400ft) on properties without showing reason or any evidence. Read more

I have a concern with the power of the Conservation Authority. They seem to be able to go on people's property at will. They appear to have the power to prevent farmers from cutting down their own trees, even when it is needed to get machinery through certain areas. Read more

As a private property owner in a rural subdivision, I would like to see more power given back to the landowner (homeowner) for obtaining permits from conservation authorities. Read more

The conservation authorities have overreached their authority on private property. Rather than focus on their original mandate to oversee the watershed, they were quick to rear their head to focus on private property owners, to find a violation so they could take people to court. Read more

It is time for this Conservative government to start listening to citizens and municipalities who are having these omnibus bills shoved down their throats in the complete absence of public consultation. Read more

I am absolutely against Bill 23 in its current state as its attack on regional planning is counterproductive for housing affordability – as well as being environmentally disastrous. Read more

This absolutely should not be allowed to pass, as it effectively makes the PPS and Planning Act useless. Why have such documents if they are not going to be followed? Read more
