Explanding the greenbelt is an excellent idea. I understand it means increased density in housing development which will not be popular, but could be managed, perhaps drawing more on design from some of the older, small-lot developments with good public transport and main street services.

The largest possible expansion of the Greenbelt will protect ecological corridors and keep important natural areas off limits to development. The Rouge River upstream of Rouge National Urban Park and Duffin’s Creek are key areas for restoration and enhanced protection and connectivity.

This is super! If possible, Turtle protection areas could be worked in. Perhaps an organization like the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre (KTTC) could be consulted regarding any Turtle nesting or crossing zones. They may have relevant suggestions and on sensitive areas. Read more

I support protection of the greenbelt, whether expanding what we have now,or encompassing nearby lands and critical environment that should be included.we only have one chance to do our stewardly duties.. you can't let environmental protection and policies fall to the wayside.. Read more

I agree with the addition of the Paris-Galt Moraine to the Green belt. Moraines are very important as watercourse sources and need protection. I also agree with the addition of the proposed Urban River Valleys to the Greenbelt as they provide protection for water quality and wildlife. Read more
