We need practical, long-term solutions to our increasing biodiversity & climate crises.
Wood pellets are not a viable alternative to fossil fuels and directly contradicts Canada’s pledge to respect Indigenous rights & sovereignty and their climate promises.

A mature tree does more for the environment than wood pellets. Please plant more tress and maintain what we have. Wetlands are good for the environment also.
Leave the trees alone, we need as much as possible to keep oxygen levels up while keeping carbon emissions down. You have to be crazy or stupid to think that this behaviour will result in slowing down climate change
I have only waded through some of the Forest Biomass Proposal. I am bewildered and appalled. Wood pellets and related uses of wood for heating and generating electricity defies logic.

One of the main products of Ontario’s forest biomass industry is wood pellets. Wood pellets are marketed as a clean energy alternative, but we know that wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack. Increasing deforestation as a climate solution is not viable.

Please don't expand the forest biomass program. Burning of wood pellets is worse at the smokestack in terms of air pollution and encourages an increase in logging. This will not help combat climate change.
Wood pellets harm the environment as much as coal. Therefore I am in opposition to this project. It should not be allowed to proceed. We need green projects only.
The wood pellet industry is contributing to deforestation, produces as much or more CO2 as Coal combustion for electricity generation. The decision to move forward with the Pellet industry is based on greed and lies.

Do NOT invest in biomass energy. Canada has just decided to stop using coal for energy and now you want to use TREES? Not only creating emissions but also destroying nature in the process? No thanks.

These practices are inconsistent with the climate science and represent a false climate solution. Wood pellets are dirtier than coal at the smokestack, and continued deforestation to meet the growing demand for wood pellets that waste wood cannot meet is not an option.

Enough, People know the facts. Forestry could be sustainable based on Nordic models but Ontario still threatens future generations by catering to Industry over environmental issues and public good health. Pelts are not a viable energy choice.
Cutting forests to produce energy is simply wrong and exactly the opposite of what is needed to fight climate change. Our forests, particularly old growth forests, need to be protected as they are important carbon sinks and trees are a critical part of fighting climate change.
