I find the proposal details for what happens when the Motor Vehicle Inspection Station program would end to be very vague. I think this is the most important part of the change. What would replace the MVIS program to ensure the proper and efficient inspection of used vehicles in Ontario? Read more

This program might have been of benefit to truckers if the manufactuers could fit diesel trucks with an emmission control that actually works. Ours has been brolen down so many times causing lost revenue and towing and mechanical repairs that it has driven our compamy to near bankruptcy.

It is unacceptable that MTO still uses a paper format for safety inspections. This method enriches fraudsters while negatively impacting legitimate businesses that follow the right safety inspection rules. It also puts all road users at risk due to unsafe vehicles on the road. Read more

Hi, Once vehicle is rebuilt, it should not be repaired again if total loss second time. Should be part out only. Non branded total loss must be inspected for parts source (invoices)used in repairs. Read more

Opacity testing of brand new vehicles may be necessary. The OBD testing of brand new vehicles will prove difficult as new vehicles that have not been driven far enough to set the readiness monitors to “ready” will fail an OBD emissions test. Read more
