I’m opposed to the proposed amendments to the greenbelt for several reasons. 1. The Greenbelt holds some of the most fertile soil. Once we lose that topsoil it is very difficult to build it back 2. It will cause the Destruction of significant wetlands 3. It will effect water quantity/quality 4. Read more

I vigorously oppose the removal from the Greenbelt of 15 areas of land totalling over 7000 acres. This is a broken promise not to touch the Greenbelt system. The Government’s Housing Affordability Task Force found there are plenty of places to build homes without destroying the Greenbelt. Read more

Green belt in Durham region protects the land and prevent flooding, etc so I’m outraged that thi government is releasing parts of the greenbelt for development. This bill is shortsighted, destructive, and a mistake. The fact that a (select) few benefit while the rest of us bear the cost is more than upsetting. This negatively affects so many people: municipalities, the middle and working classes, Indigenous peoples... Read more

I am extremely concerned about Doug Ford revoking his promises to not touch The Greenbelt. It was established for many reasons, including flood mitigation, preservation of drinking water for the GTA and protection of critical habitat for many species at risk. Read more

Please explain how Bill 23 is being introduced when we were provided assurances on numerous occasions by Doug Ford's government that the Greenbelt and Oro Moraine would be preserved for future generations. I cannot vote for a party that does not fulfill its promises. Read more
