The green belt is in place to protect bio diversity and is not suitable land for housing development or highways. These areas are wetlands and would be at risk of flooding. We should be respecting this land not destroying it. Nobody asked for a new highway. Literally no one.

i am infuriated that the government is pretending that it's a zero sum game: green space or housing. this change to the green belt is not necessary, is done in bad faith, is suspiciously convenient for many developer donors to Ford's campaign, and it's a betrayal of all of Ontario's climate goals.

This is beyond shameful. In fact, it seems criminal. Doug Ford has rewarded his wealthy developer friends and is sacrificing important green space. This needs to be investigated and Ford needs to stop pushing forward with these plans. Immediately. Read more

The Greenbelt should remain the greenbelt. We need the plant and wildlife biodiversity, the ability to connect with the land and each other in nature, and not more concrete. The people of the province do not want this. There was a promise made not to touch the greenbelt. Read more

This idea sickens me. Where do I start? With the election lies? The lack of responsibility for both the constituents and this thing we can’t replace called “Earth”? This bill is the essence of greed and self interest. Will never vote conservatives.
