NO. This is a terrible idea. It will induce more traffic and conflicts with already set municipal plans. Long term it will cost more money then the tax revenue it generates. Just focus on urban infill with higher density and transit. Basically the missing middle problem. From Hamilton Ontario.

The green belt is some of the most arable land in the world. We have a crisis on the west coast of the country such as wild fires and droughts. We need to be more self reliant in this province (and country) to prevent a situation of having food shortages. Read more

Leave the green belt alone please. The govt has made no real case for why another tract of protected land should be destroyed to extend suburbia. Studies have shown that people need green spaces for their mental health and physical health. Read more

Please stop plans for development in the green belt. This is valuable agricultural land and once developed into housing there is no going back. How will we feed the predicted wave of new Ontario residents if we pave over this land for development? What about the environmental impact? Read more
