This kind of overreach erodes confidence in the government of Ontario, why should citizens believe any promises made if any new party can just change course- the green belt should be preserved and managed for future generations of ontariens it was a promise made and should be a promise kept.
The government made a promise to the land, to protect it... Don't go back on it now. By going forward with this project, the wildlife and animals that live in the protected areas will be deeply affected, leaving them without a habitat. How will they survive?

This is not a good idea. Our environment is extremely important and must be protected. Not only that, but this is not a sustainable way to fix our housing crisis.
This proposal seems a little backwards. In protected land movements that date back all the way to 1893, they were trying to save this land and keep it safe from deforestation and having the land be taken over by man.

Ontario's Greenbelt boundaries are being treated like moveable commodities, subject to the whims of government and the bottom lines of developers (if it were a protected mountain range we wouldn't even be having this discussion).

Since I was a child, I admired the protection of the Greenbelt. I was prideful in our province's belief in sustainability, I naively believed that we would have this belief forever and that the Greenbelt would remain a long-lasting protected piece of land.

I don't think that there is reasonable evidence to suggest that building a relatively small number of single family homes in the greenbelt will alleviate the housing affordability issues being experienced in Ontario.

Leave all protected areas as is. This is unacceptable. Doug Ford promised that the will of the people (to leave the Green Belt alone) would be upheld and must be held accountable to that promise.
Destroying the green belt won’t fix the housing crisis. I’d implore you to do some research on global soil health to fully understand the importance of this crucial resource. We need the green belt to eat, breath and drink.
