Changes to the Greenbelt should not be considered. As Toronto and the GTA grow into a larger mega city the green space is precious. It is not needed to build housing either. What is needed is a proper use of the available land of which there is plenty.

This is not the future that Ontarian’s need. The green belt is a significant natural infrastructure piece that should be left as is. There are better ways to improve housing availability that do not involve selling the future quality of life of our children and grandchildren.

I feel very strongly about the environment, and the proposed development of the greenbelt, which includes the Oak Ridges Moraine, is socially and environmentally wrong. The Moraine has an aquifer that provides us with needed groundwater.

This proposal will ruin the environment. There is a huge amount of endangered, threatened and at risk species that live throughout the green belt. It is protected for a reason and should stay as such. Studies show that this highway won’t help anyone. It won’t help our traffic problem.

Public lands should be for the public. Developing Greenbelt land will be detrimental to the environment, wildlife and anyone who uses the land in the future.
Please preserve the Greenbelt for future generations by not developing housing.
