Do not sell this land. It is not to build on. It is to house wildlife. It is their home. Not ours. We have taken enough and built enough. The world does not need more luxury housing complexes. The world needs trees, clean water, wildlife, ecosystems, sustainable progress.

I am very upset that these significant changes are being made to the Greenbelt. The Greenbelt is intended to be conserved PERMANENTLY to prevent urban sprawl, to protect important corridors for animals to travel, and to preserve the natural vegetation. Read more

I do not support this proposal. If approved, this will set a precedent that the Greenbelt designation ultimately has no substantive protection and means nothing. This will enable future removals of Greenbelt land with more ease and acceptance, and the term Greenbelt will eventually erode. Read more

I am writing to state my opposition to the proposal to remove 7,400 acres of land from the Greenbelt, which was revealed on November 04. Climate change is a huge concern and removing parts of the Greenbelt will have devastating consequences on the wetlands, woodlands and other natural areas. Read more

This is terrible for the environment and many endangered species. You cannot get farmland back once it is paved over. It will cause flooding and will affect future generations. We must protect this land. This will not help the average family buy a home. Read more

This amendment and actually Bill 23 is a very sad and unbelievable case of Mr. Ford’s broken promise of not touching the Greenbelt Area. There are lands available all over Ontario and of course outside the Greenbelt for as many houses as Mr. Ford’s government intend to build. Read more

At this time in history, it is unbelievable that the government would REMOVE restrictions protecting the environment. That seems like an oxymoron. Climate change is a fact-we all see it and live it every day. To ignore it is one thing, but to further advance it is irresponsible. Read more

This is really sickening. Please leave the Greenbelt alone. I am a realtor and can appreciate the need for development but we do have other options available to us without having to encroach on the Greenbelt. There are more responsible ways to develop Ontario.
