I thought that this land was legally protected greenspace, to protect plants and wildlife. This proposal will also affect fresh water supply and food production. I’m still shocked that any party can just rewrite laws without consulting the public. The Ford government is out of control. Read more

I object to the opening of the protected Greenbelt areas. We need the green spaces and that’s why they were protected in the first place. Any development there will affect the watersheds and wetlands. This will affect the rivers they feed into along with any plants and animals which live there. Read more

I'm personally not in favour of re-designating the Greenbelt for developmental purposes. From what I understand, the government is suggesting that the Greenbelt be developed to accommodate for population growth in the Golden Horseshoe area. Read more

I am feeling sick in my stomach imagining the Greenbelt being dug up and cement poured on top. PLEASE, not there, not now. We KNOW how important this and every other wetland is. We work hard to ensure an invasive species like phragmites doesn’t destroy delicate ecosystems. Read more

I am extremely disappointed and upset. The whole process to this point has shown itself to be rash, arbitrary, and lacking in any meaningful consultation.
