It is not sustainable to keep paving over the wild areas. The green belt has been allocated to protect wildlife and the natural order of things. It has been researched and designated for the purpose of protecting humans from natural disasters. Read more

I am extremely disappointed in my Provincial Government: I consider this bill and the proposed changes to the Greenbelt to be utterly shameful. Here are my reasons: - There was no consultation with Indigenous groups, as is required by law Read more

I am concerned about the loss of natural heritage which is not clearly identified but, could be wetlands. Map 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 11 show natural heritage features being removed from the greenbelt. This removal could cause flooding or increased drought. Read more

I am concerned that this proposal is in violation of the Environmental Bill of Rights as it is connected to Bill23 which has passed as well as in violation of Federal law if there are Federally listed endangered species present or it undermines biodiversity targets.

Redesignating this much land makes no sense. I did not vote for this. Doug Ford promised not to touch the Greenbelt and I expected that he would be developing higher-density options in municipalities south and north of the Greenbelt, not feeding the developers out of the palm of his hand.

I reject the rationale for the deletions proposed in this notice. The Greenbelt Plan and the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan were intended to protect lands forever. Designations under these plans were not intended to be re-assigned for the convenience of developers. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed removal of lands from the Greenbelt. We should meet our housing goals by maximizing density in existing urban and suburban settlements, where city services already exist and can be expanded upon. Read more

I am a steward of the land where I live, I owe respect and care to the land, the creatures with which I share it, and the photo-synthesizing trees, grasses and other plants that support all life. This complex web is clearly not of concern to the current government. It is of major concern to me. Read more
