Proposal details

The proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for Freymond Lumber Limited for stormwater management works at the Freymond Quarry, located at 2287 Bay Lake Road in Bancroft, Ontario.

The stormwater management works comprise of a stormwater management dry pond, also referred to as an infiltration cell, that will contain and manage stormwater runoff from Phase 1 of the Freymond Quarry. The infiltration cell is proposed for the east corner of the site, in the designated area for the stormwater management pond.

While Phase 1 is being extracted, the proposed infiltration cell will provide quality, quantity, and erosion control protection by infiltrating all stormwater runoff from storm events up to and including the 100-year event.

The proposed infiltration cell is sized to fully infiltrate all runoff, with no outlet. The infiltration cell will have no direct discharge to a water body nor a water channel. Infiltration will occur from the bottom of the infiltration cell. The infiltration cell will be inspected regularly after storm events to ensure it is performing properly.
